Participants get their safety instructions before driving onto the
range for the South Florida PMC Shoot for a Cure event.

The sixth annual Shoot for a Cure hosted by the Greater South Florida
Maritime Trades Council turned over $25,000 to the Luekemia and
Lymphoma Society despite reduced attendance because of the coronavirus
pandemic.

PMC Vice President Kris Hopkins reported the 34 shooters practiced
social distancing throughout the day on the range just north of Lake
Okeechobee, FL, on June 19.

“We had a very spirited group who enjoyed the opportunity to be
outside and do something for a great cause,” Hopkins stated.

He thanked all those who helped make the event a success even if they
could not participate in person. Plans already are underway for next
year’s event.
