The Greater South Florida Maritime Trades Council helped make the holidays brighter for the homeless and working poor with a donation to LifeNet4Families of Broward County.
“We want to share what we have with those who are less fortunate,’ said PMC Secretary-Treasurer Jerry Abell in presenting the check to LifeNet’s Russ Martin during the council’s December luncheon. “LifeNet does tremendous work in the community.”
Abell added the council has helped the organization (which provides meals and a pantry for those in need as well as employment support and family counseling) for several years.
Council members also discussed several other projects for getting the members of its various affiliates involved in upgrading LifeNet’s facilities in the coming year.
