OPCMIA General President Daniel E. Stepano

The MTD welcomes its newest Executive Board Member – General President Daniel E. Stepano of the Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association (OPCMIA).

Brother Stepano succeeds the late Patrick Finley, who passed away on April 10.

Starting as a plasterer in OPCMIA Local 31 (based in Pittsburgh) in 1980, Stepano rose through the ranks within his local holding various positions including Apprenticeship Coordinator/Instructor, Business Agent and Business Manager & Financial Secretary.

In July 2004, he was appointed International Vice President and General Executive Board Member for the international. A month later, the OPCMIA convention elected him to the same posts.

During June 2007, Stepano was appointed Executive Vice President. Convention delegates retained him at that position during the union’s 2009 and 2014 conventions.

Stepano became General President on April 16.

His history in the union runs deep as his father was a member of the Pittsburgh local for more than 46 years.
