Two MTD affiliates played a special role in one of the retirement ceremonies for New York Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter held during his final playing days at Yankee Stadium.

A Yankees New Era baseball cap produced by members of the Communications Workers of America was encased in bronze, then presented to the Yankee captain. Members of the Seafarers International Union’s industrial affiliate – the United Industrial Workers – provided the handiwork for the finished product. They work for Bron Shoe/American Bronzing based in Columbus, OH.
