Workers at the Hanson Pipe and Precast inRichmond,Virginiarecently voted for union representation by the Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers International Union (GMP).
Fifty-six percent of the workers voted for the GMP. The victory marked the third Harrison plant that the GMP represents.
According to a spokesperson for the union, seniority and work hours were the two major issues involved in the organizing drive.
