Patrick M. Dolan, Jr., is the newest member of the MTD Executive Board, serving as the representative for the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada (UA).

Brother Dolan takes the position previously held by Brett McCoy, who retired from the UA at the end of 2021.

Now serving as the union’s Director of Metal Trades, Dolan began his career as an apprentice in UA Steamfitters Local 638 in 1987. After graduating from the five-year program, he worked on a variety of construction projects as a mechanic, foreman and shop steward.

In 2004, he was elected business agent for his New York City and Long Island local. He was elected local president in February 2011. Five years later, he was elected UA Vice President, District 1, which encompasses Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Dolan serves on the executive board for the Long Island Federation of Labor, the New York City Central Labor Council and the Nassau and Suffolk Building Trades Council. He also is on the executive council for the New York State AFL-CIO and the New York City Building and Construction Trades Council.

“We welcome Brother Dolan to the MTD Executive Board,” stated MTD President Michael Sacco. “The UA and MTD have worked together for more than 60 years, and we look forward to our continued good relationship to benefit workers.”
