Anthony Gonsiewski

Vice President

Brother Anthony “Ski” Gonsiewski is the current President/Business Manager of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 25. He was appointed this position in April of 2021.

Ski has been a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers since 1977. Ski is a third generation as he followed his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps. He successfully transitioned through multiple roles, from deckhand to crane operator.

From 2009-2016, Ski then served as the Financial Secretary/Business Agent of Local 25, headquartered in New Jersey. He was elected as the Vice-President/Business Agent in 2016. During this time, he represented Local 25 at numerous conferences, board meetings, and negotiations.

Ski has been an active participant in some of Local 25’s successful projects; deepening of the Arthur Kill, deepening of the Delaware River, and reconstruction of the beaches along the East Coast.

In 2019, alongside former President Jerry Abell and his brothers, Ski was an asset in the development of a training facility in North Carolina, to promote safety awareness for dredgers.

Ski’s time “out of office” is spent with his wife of 40 years, his three children, and soon to be four grandchildren.
